Professional Learning Communities

Regional interest in peer learning and the role of professional learning communities (PLCs) in school and district improvement led to NECC’s development of a bi-monthly webinar series on PLCs. Between webinars, the Network distributes the plc update, an e-newsletter with links to archived webinars and other resources and invitations to future webinars. Engaging experts from the region and beyond to present strategies for creating, supporting, and sustaining online and face-to-face PLCs, NECC is now exploring the use of an online professional learning community and testing the effectiveness of local and state-level approaches to this powerful form of job-embedded learning.
